Gilbert Kalish was the pianist of the Boston Symphony Chamber Players from 1969 until 1997. His distinguished career as a performer, educator and recording artist has made a significant influence of several generations of musicians. He was chairman of the faculty at the Tanglewood Music Center from 1985 to 1997 and his collaborations with such performers as Joel Krosnick, Dawn Upshaw, the late Jan DeGaetani and others have set the standards for such partnerships.
